About me

Black and white photo of a person sitting on a wooden rail, wearing a cowboy hat, holding a camera, and looking into the distance in a desert landscape.

Hello! Yes, that’s me.

My name is Miesa, and I am the creative mind behind Wylde.

I’m a self-taught photographer originally from South Africa, now lucky enough to call Australia my home.

Before diving into photography full-time, I was a primary school teacher, where I nurtured my passion for connection and creativity. It wasn’t until I discovered freediving that my life took an unexpected yet thrilling turn. Immersing myself in the underwater world sparked a love for photography that has since evolved into capturing not only the mysteries of the ocean but also the energy of surf culture, the intimacy of weddings, and the essence of brand storytelling.

For me, photography is more than just a craft—it’s my love language... my Wylde. With a keen eye for art and an appreciation for the raw, unfiltered beauty of the world, I believe that each photo has the power to tell a story, educate, connect, and inspire. Through my art, I hope to inspire you to be untamed, to live fully, and to find your Wylde.

Thank you for visiting. Whether you’re here to explore, collaborate, or bring a piece of my art into your space, I’m excited to share this journey with you. Let’s make magic together!
